Rome is a city of fountains and plazas: They are all around, and it’s difficult to choose which is the most beautiful! Piazza del Popolo is a good example of the beauty of Roman plazas: a square of neoclassical style with a big Egyptian Obelisk presiding it and several important buildings surrounding it, such as the Porta del Popolo, which once was the Porta Flaminia of the city of Rome and was surrounded by the Aurelian walls of the city. Piazza del Popolo is an ideal place to start your night early and join in one of the Italian traditions: the aperitivo!
